100 years of Yorkshire Cancer Research
On 21st May 2025 Yorkshire Cancer Research celebrated its 100th birthday. The Charity marked this occasion with a re-creation of its founding meeting held in the Old Medical School at the University of Leeds. Prof Phil Quirke, PI for the Yorkshire Cancer Research Bowel Cancer Improvement Programme (YCRBCIP), was one of the 18 researchers invited to this recreation. More about the founding meeting and the recreation can be found here: Link to Yorkshire Cancer Research Article on 100 since the founding meeting of the charity
Prof Eva Morris (Co-PI and Data Lead for YCRBCIP) and Hannah Rossington (Project Manager for YCRBCIP) represented the programme at the centenary lunch held to celebrate the 100th birthday of the charity. The event celebrated the changemakers of the charity - the founders, the fundraisers and the researchers.
