Oncology Events

Following presentations at ASCO and regional discussions we will be hosting two oncology events in September; one focused on radiotherapy and one on systemic therapies.  Due to the number of topics that we wish to cover it has not been possible to consolidate this into one event.

We are keen to ensure that there is oncology representation from all Colorectal MDTs in the region at both of these events to ensure we can agree regional approaches during the discussion sections of the events.  We will also be inviting surgical representation from the MDTs to join both events in the afternoon session to ensure there is appropriate multidisciplinary discussion and agreement.  Details of the two events are outlined below.

Friday 13th September 2019 Teleconference – Radiotherapy

Topics will include;

  • Short Course Radiotherapy and planned Delayed Surgery the case for change
  • Trials post ARISTOTLE for local advanced disease
  • Update on OPERA and ARTEMIS
  • DPD testing
  • Extra nodule tumour deposits

Wednesday 25th September 2019 Yorkshire Sculpture Park – Systemic Therapy

Topics for this event will include

  • What influence should the FOxTRoT trial data have on routine practise? (Matt Seymour)
  • Regional Rectal Cancer Adjuvant Chemotherapy Algorithm (post RT+S) (Dan Swinson)
  • Regional chemotherapy data for advanced disease (update from Andy Conn/ BCIP team)
  • Ileostomy and adjuvant therapy – update on regional work (update from Kim Last/ Sam Chan/ BCIP team)

The events will be held with no costs to delegates to attend.  We will also be applying for CPD accreditation.

To register your interest at either of these events please email H.L.Rossington@leeds.ac.uk
